WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO VOTE ON GUARANTEED MAX PRICE FOR REPAIRS AT EXPO

Washington County Commissioners will take up a guaranteed maximum price agreement on Tuesday for a bid package for repairs and maintenance at the Expo.

In July, commissioners authorized Collier Construction as the construction manager at risk to seek bids for the project.  It includes the demolition and removal of the JLA building, as well as related site and utility work like electrical upgrades for the barns and food court, plumbing repairs for the sales facility and entertainment pavilion, and work on the sanitary sewer lines.

Also on Tuesday, commissioners will act on the county branding guide and branding policy.  The branding guide and policy are intended to provide a more uniform identity for the county as an organization.

Commissioners will also present Washington County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jay Petrash with a plaque honoring his 50 years of service in law enforcement.

In other business, commissioners will:

  • Consider the purchase of a three-year software subscription service for call detail reporting from MicroCall for Washington County 911.
  • Take up an agreement with Brannon Industrial Group for administrative support services for the October 2026 scrap tire collection event at the BVR Collection Station.
  • Vote on the IT Department’s technology acquisition and oversight policy.
  • Act on a technical services agreement between the county and Faith Mission.
  • Hear monthly reports from the sheriff’s office, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor-collector, treasurer, constables, elections and veterans service officer.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.  A budget workshop will be held after the regular meeting.
