SIX SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT
Six people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st and 335th District Court before Judge Reva Towslee Corbett.
25-year-old Quavies Tavon Andrews of Sumpter, North Carolina, sentenced to 3 years in prison for Attempted Sexual Assault, a third degree felony. Andrews must also register as a sex offender upon release.
33-year-old Mitchell Wayne Smith of Cypress, probation revoked and sentenced to 3 years in prison for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, a third degree felony.
22-year-old Caleb Loza Diaz of Leander, probation adjudicated and sentenced to 458 days in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony.
68-year-old Billie Joe Jordan Jr. of Hempstead, sentenced to 8 months in state jail on two counts of Theft of Property Less Than $2,500 with Two or More Previous Convictions, both state jail felonies. The sentences will run concurrently.
29-year-old Hykeem Alijawun Jathomas Smith of Houston, sentenced to 101 days in the Washington County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram, a Class A misdemeanor.
30-year-old Marion Emmanuel Battle of Hempstead, sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams, a third degree felony. Battle must also pay a $500 fine, $180 lab fee and $50 crime stoppers fee. Additionally, Battle was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program.
