BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE FINDING SUCCESS IN THE BOXING RING

Keep your eyes on 2023 Brenham High School graduate Jahyden Britton, who is starting to turn some heads in the world of professional boxing.

Britton currently sports a record of 10-0, and six of those wins came by way of knockout.

Back on August 14, Britton captured the WBA/NABA Silver Super Middleweight Championship. He outlasted Bruno Pola Ruiz to win a unanimous decision as part of the BiYu Promotions, "Fights Under the Lights," card at Constellation Field in Sugarland.

The Silver Championship is a major regional championship that is defended in the U.S and Canada. Winning the belt often leads to Gold Championship fights. The Gold Championships fights then could lead to world rankings, and international fights.

Britton made his pro debut on May 3, 2024 against Eduardo Torrez at the Red Owl Boxing Arena in Houston. Britton knocked out Torrez 1:27 seconds into the first round to pick up his first career win.

Of his ten professional fights, six of the bouts have been in Houston. He has also had two in Conroe, one in Arlington, and one in Sugarland.

Prior to turning pro, Britton began boxing in the amateur ranks in 2022, and even competed in national Junior Olympic events.
