BRENHAM PD MAKES ARRESTS FOR FAMILY ASSAULT, DWI, MARIJUANA POSSESSION

  

Brenham police reported three arrests over Labor Day weekend.

Approaching 6:45 a.m. Friday, Officer LeDarion Jenkins initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 36 North and West Blue Bell Road.  During the stop, police established probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle based on the odor of marijuana.  Police say their search revealed that the driver was in possession of marijuana.  20-year-old Brandon Perrot of Harvey, Louisiana was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.

Close to 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Corporal Grayson Marburger and Officer Mason Guillen were dispatched to the 500 block of West Blue Bell Road in reference to a report of vandalism.  After further investigation, police took 22-year-old Matthew Proeung of Brenham into custody for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.  He was transported to the Washington County Jail.

Just shy of 2 p.m. Monday, Lieutenant Steven Eilert and Officer Carley Lee were dispatched to the 1100 block of Highway 290 West in reference to a welfare check on a driver slumped over in the driver’s seat and stopped in the middle of the roadway.  Upon further investigation, police say the driver showed to be intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle.  44-year-old Julie Beyer of Hempstead was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container and transported to the Washington County Jail.
