RESISTING ARREST, THEFT WARRANT, PAROLE VIOLATION MAKE UP THREE BOOKINGS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM PD

  

Brenham police reported three arrests on Tuesday on charges including resisting arrest, a theft warrant and a parole violation.

Around 8:15 a.m., K9 Sergeant Jimmy Ha, Detective Andrea Guerra and Officer Carley Lee responded to a hit and run located near the 1900 block of West Main Street.  Police say their investigation revealed that a driver, identified as 37-year-old Ashley Tynette Burns of Brenham, allegedly hit the victim’s vehicle and left the scene of the accident.  Burns was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced, Accident Involving Damage to a Vehicle Greater than $200, and Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport.

At 12:30 p.m., Sgt. Ha, Detective Guerra and Officer Lee responded to the 2600 block of Cheyenne Drive in reference to a report of an agency assist.  Upon arrival, a wanted subject, identified as 51-year-old Angela Christine Guthrie of Brenham, was located and arrested on a warrant from Brazos County for Theft $2,500 - $30,000.  Guthrie was transported to the Washington County Jail and released to jail staff without incident.

Shortly after 11:15 p.m., Sergeant Jose Perez conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Highway 290 West.  Upon contact with the driver, police say he was found to have an active warrant out of Austin for parole violation – Driving While Intoxicated.  Once the warrant was confirmed, 54-year-old Richard Lopez of Houston was placed into custody for the parole violation, No Driver’s License and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.  Lopez was taken to the Washington County Jail for booking.
