BURTON FOOTBALL ROLLS TO A 61-0 WIN OVER MILANO
After basically having the last two weeks off (one game stopped in the first quarter due to lightning and the bye week), the Burton Panther Football Team was ready to get back on the field in a big way on Friday night.
The Panthers dominated the Milano Eagles on their way to a 61-0 road victory.
Burton welcomed back starting QB Kayden Patterson, who showed that his injured ankle was fully healed by running the ball 12 times for 186 yards and four touchdowns. As a team, the Panthers ended up rushing for exactly 400 yards on the ground.
Hudson Frank got the scoring started with a 10-yard run in the first quarter. Ashton Fuller's extra point made it 7-0 Burton.
Patterson would next find the end zone on a 24-yard rushing touchdown to increase the Panthers' lead to 14-0.
Frank scored for the second time on a 14-yard dash to give Burton a 21-0 advantage.
Patterson's legs took over in the second quarter as he ran for touchdowns of 28 yards, 13 yards, and 71 yards, which put the Panthers up 41-0.
Just before halftime, Braydon Martin scored on a four-yard touchdown run to give Burton a 48-0 lead going into the locker room.
The Panthers added on two more scores in the third quarter to seal the win. Logun Tosta returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown and Zachary Purvis reached the end zone on a 56-yard touchdown run to make it 61-0.
Kicker Ashton Fuller was 7-9 on extra point attempts.
The Burton defense held Milano to only 31 yards of total offense. The Panthers got three interceptions in the game. One each from Patterson, Tosta, and Hadlee Reed.
Next up, Burton will face the Bartlett Bulldogs in the annual Homecoming Game on Friday night at Panther Stadium in Burton. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm. KWHI will have live coverage at 6:30pm on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
