WASHINGTON CO. DA: CASES CLOSED AGAINST FOUR ACCUSED IN AGGRAVATED ROBBERY, ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

Charges are no longer pending against four Brenham men arrested earlier this month in an aggravated robbery and aggravated assault investigation.

Washington County District Attorney Derek Estep said the cases have been closed against the four, identified as 17-year-old Hector Emilio Bermea, 17-year-old Kaiden Michael Nelson, 18-year-old Kalvin Douglas Peterson Baylis and 18-year-old Parker Joseph Shugart.  They were released from custody on Friday after their arrest on September 18th by Brenham police.

Officers were called out around 2:15 p.m. on the 18th to a report of a victim being robbed, assaulted and sustaining serious bodily injury in the 500 block of East Blue Bell Road.  The four individuals had been charged with Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

According to Estep, the investigation is still active, and police could re-file either with the district attorney’s office or county attorney’s office once the investigation is completed.

Brenham Police Chief Gary Boshears said he does not have any new information to provide at this time.
