BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM TO HOST MONTH-LONG DISPLAY FOR TAMF ART SHOW
The Brenham Heritage Museum and Texas Arts & Music Festival are partnering for the first time to present the festival’s juried art show as a month-long exhibition.
Previously presented at other venues during festival weekend, this year’s art show will be on display at the museum from October 1 – 31.
The expanded exhibition will feature more than 50 works by artists from across Texas and the local community. Visitors can explore a collection of paintings, photography, sculptures and other works, including special entries from Blinn College and Brenham High School.
The public is invited to the opening reception at the museum on Friday, October 16th at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, and there will be live music by Zach Hyde.
Texas Arts & Music Festival President Mark Rosenbaum said the festival is grateful for this year’s partnership with the museum. He said, “By contributing space for our Opening Reception and Juried Art Show, the museum is giving selected local and statewide artists an entire month to display their work.”
Brenham Heritage Museum Board Chair Phil Van Dorf said the museum is thrilled to collaborate with the festival and “celebrate the incredible talent and creativity that make Washington County such a vibrant place to live and visit.” He added, “We are excited to partner with organizations that share our commitment to showcasing local artists and inspiring future generations to appreciate and contribute to Washington County’s rich artistic heritage.”
Festival profits support educational resources for arts and music in Washington County.
Admission to the museum will be free during the festival weekend, October 16 – 18. Regular museum admission will apply for the remainder of the exhibition’s run. Museum hours during festival weekend are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 16th; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17th; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 18th.
