The 13th-ranked Blinn College men’s golf team finished 10th at the two-day, three-round Waco River Classic on Tuesday in Waco, Texas.

The Buccaneers finished 42-over par with rounds of 295, 308, and 303 in the 15-team tournament.

Sophomore Broc Talamantez led Blinn, finishing even par and placing 12th in the 87-player field. He carded rounds of 71, 73, and 72.

Freshman Rex Flores played well in his first collegiate tournament, shooting rounds of 73, 71, and 74 to finish 2-over par and place 15th.

“Team-wise, it wasn’t our best effort,” first-year Bucs head coach Gary Belt said. “We made mistakes around the course we need to learn from quickly. Broc and Rex played very well, but as a team, we’ll be better next time.”

Blinn returns to the links when it competes in the Texas A&M-Victoria Fall Classic beginning Monday, Oct. 19, in Victoria, Texas.
