EMMA BENOIT NAMED AUSTIN CO. FAIR QUEEN
The 99th Annual Austin County Fair got underway over the weekend with the crowning of royalty on Saturday.
Emma Benoit was named this year’s Fair Queen. First Runner-Up is Teaghan Eckelberg, while Second Runner-Up is Ellie Sowa and Third Runner-Up is Kayleigh Kendrick.
Kendrick was recognized as the Fair Ticket Queen. First Runner-Up for Ticket Queen is Eckelberg, Second Runner-Up is Benoit, and Third Runner-Up is Bexley Nelson. Kaitlyn Kloss was named Miss Congeniality.
Also recognized were the winners of the Little and Junior Mister and Miss contests and the Junior Fair Queen contest. The Littler Mister and Miss are Cooper Kolojaco and Madelynn Villasenor, and the Junior Mister and Miss are August Pickering and Kline Spring. The Junior Fair Queen is Catalea Castro.
Livestock judging has begun and continues through Thursday. Thursday will be the day for the fair parade through downtown Bellville at 10 a.m.
The youth livestock auction will take place on Friday, starting at 10 a.m. The youth supreme and country fair auction will be on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Featured entertainers will be the Brown Sugar Band at 6 p.m. and Waylon Thibodeaux at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Tanner Usrey at 8 p.m. and Flatland Cavalry at 10 p.m. on Friday, Kevin Fowler at 9 p.m. and Clay Walker at 11 p.m. on Saturday, and the Lost Cause Band from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Other activities at the fairgrounds will include a carnival, rodeo events, a petting zoo, a wine show and a country store.
