BRENHAM POLICE MAKE ARRESTS FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION, THEFT WARRANT
Brenham police made two arrests between Monday night and early this (Tuesday) morning, one for marijuana possession and another for a theft warrant.
Just before 10 p.m. Monday, Officer Brayten Rolling was conducting traffic enforcement in the 400 block of Highway 290 East when he initiated a traffic stop for speeding. Police performed a probable cause search after detecting the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. 29-year-old Collin Nicholas Alvis of Cypress was placed into custody for Possession of Marijuana 4oz. – 5lbs and booked into the Washington County Jail without incident.
Shortly before 1:45 a.m. today, officers were dispatched to the area of Blinn Boulevard and West Main Street in reference to a possible disturbance. Upon arrival, officers searched the area and located 25-year-old Michael Mays of Brenham, who police say showed to have an active warrant out of Washington County for Theft. Mays was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.
