SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE POSSESSION, DRIVING WITH INVALID LICENSE

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported four arrests on Monday.

At 6:30 p.m., Deputy Tyler Hansen conducted a traffic stop for no front license plate in the 8000 block of Highway 290 West.  The sheriff’s office says the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.  45-year-old Ubaldo Rincon of Houston was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced.

Around 7 p.m., Deputy Carson Holton initiated a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Austin Street for unapproved window tint.  Upon making contact with the driver, the sheriff’s office reported detecting an odor of marijuana, leading to a search of the vehicle that led to the discovery of a THC vape pen.  25-year-old Sebastian Montoya of Brenham was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram.

Close to 10:15 p.m., Deputy Hansen initiated a traffic stop for no front license plate in the 3600 block of Highway 290 West.  The sheriff’s office says it detected an odor of marijuana upon making contact, and a search of the vehicle resulted in deputies locating marijuana, a vape pen and a firearm.  The driver and passenger were taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.  28-year-old Jaime Antonio Nunez of Baytown and 27-year-old Aiyana Reese Vanzant of Katy were both charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram, while Nunez was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
