SIX SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT

  

Six people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st and 335th District Court, before Judge John Winkelmann.

42-year-old Leonard Curtis Crawford Jr. of Houston, sentenced to 7 years in prison for Assault of a Family/Household Member with Previous Conviction, a third degree felony. 

40-year-old Danial Randall Spencer of Austin, sentenced to 105 days in the Washington County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony.  Spencer must also pay a $180 lab fee.

24-year-old Xavier Jeremiah Angel Martinez of Brenham, placed on probation for 10 years on each of two counts of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury, both second degree felonies.  Martinez was originally sentenced to 10 years in prison after a hearing in May.  As part of his probation, he must pay a $1,000 fine, spend 180 days in the Washington County Jail, complete a DWI education program and a drug offender education program, have an interlock device on his vehicle for 5 years, and write letters of apology to each victim in each case within six months of the probation judgment. 

36-year-old Hugo David Montelongo of Lufkin, sentenced to 10 years’ probation on each of two counts of Burglary of a Habitation, both second degree felonies.  Montelongo must also pay restitution to be determined, perform 250 hours of community service and maintain no contact with the victims or their home.

19-year-old Gregory Alexander Ortiz of Chappell Hill, sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams, a second degree felony.  Ortiz must also pay a $180 lab fee, perform 100 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program.

25-year-old Michael Jermaine Mays of Brenham, sentenced to 2 years’ probation for Theft of Property Less Than $2,500 with Two or More Previous Convictions, a state jail felony.  Mays will also have to pay a $500 fine and perform 50 hours of community service.
