WASHINGTON COUNTY SCRAP TIRE COLLECTION EVENT STARTS SATURDAY

Washington County residents are reminded about the Scrap Tire Collection Event, which starts tomorrow (on Saturday).

The Scrap Tire Collection Event is sponsored by Washington County and BVR.

The event runs October 10-24 at the BVR Collection Station at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Road in Brenham.

It is open to all residents of Washington County including the cities of Brenham and Burton.

Their business hours on Saturdays are 8am-1pm, and 8am-5pm on weekdays.

They will be accepting up to eight passenger vehicle tires per household at no charge.

Proof of residency is required such as a driver’s license or a utility bill.

They will not be accepting tires on rims, off-road tires, or pieces of tires.

Also, the Scrap Tire Collection Event is not for commercial customers. Commercial businesses can bring tires by, but they will be charged the normal fee.

Funding for the Scrap Tire Collection Event is made possible by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Brazos Valley Council of Governments.
