Buccaneers limit Golden Norsemen to one touchdown in the second half

MIAMI, Okla. — No. 9 Blinn College football (4-2, 2-2) fell to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, 42-12, on the road Saturday night.

Although Blinn limited the Golden Norsemen to one touchdown in the second half, the Buccaneers couldn’t recover from an early 29-point deficit in the first half.

Northeastern Oklahoma was the first to score on a 36-yard touchdown pass at the 8:41 mark in the first quarter. Blinn followed to jump on the scoreboard in the opening quarter as Alec Schroeder made a 37-yard field goal with 4:32 remaining for the Buccaneers to trail 7-3.

The Golden Norsemen tacked on the next 28 points in the second quarter by scoring on a 48-yard touchdown pass with 11:25 showing, a rushing touchdown with 9:20 on the clock, a quarterback sneak with 5:55 left, and a touchdown pass at the 1:19 mark to lead 35-3. With one second remaining, Schroeder kicked a 24-yard field goal for Blinn to trail 35-6 at the halftime.

Blinn limited the Golden Norsemen to one touchdown in the second half, a passing touchdown with 11:30 showing in the third quarter. The momentum shifted in Blinn’s direction when  Darius VanDyke intercepted the ball and Devin McAdoo rushed the ball in from the one-yard-line for with five seconds remaining in the third quarter. The score remained 42-12 throughout the final quarter as neither team scored.
