911 IN MILAM COUNTY REPAIRED AFTER FAILURE THIS MORNING
UPDATED: The 911 emergency call system that failed early Friday morning has been restored and is in operation.
Earlier: According to authorities, the 911 emergency call system in Milam County has failed and technicians are working to fix the issue.
KWTX is reporting that Cameron Police Chief Randy Dixon notified them this (Friday) morning that the system had failed and was inoperable. Dixon says callers needing emergency services must dial an agency directly. Authorities say the system went down sometime between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. and Verizon technicians are working to fix the problem.
