FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO DAIRY QUEEN FIRE

The Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to the Dairy Queen on Market Street this (Monday) morning just before 9:00.  A fryer was reported to be on fire.  When firemen arrived, the fire was out, but moderate smoke filled the restaurant.  The power was cut to the building and firemen used fans to remove the smoke.  They also checked if the fire had extended into the ceiling.  The Dairy Queen was closed at the time of the fire, so there were no customers inside, and no one was reported injured.

Firemen suit up to enter the Dairy Queen.
Firemen use air packs to enter the smoke filled building.
