BURLESON CO. FAIR AUCTIONS BRING IN OVER $1.8 MILLION
Sales at the Burleson County Fair Junior and Commercial Livestock Auctions totaled more than $1.8 million this past weekend in Caldwell.
Saturday evening’s Junior Livestock Auction brought in over $917,000 alone. The Grand Champion Steer, shown by Kaitlin Schroeder, was purchased for $11,000 by JMF Landworks and JxJ Ranch. Kyleigh Hruska’s Grand Champion Swine was bought by Metropolitan Water Company for $10,000. Metropolitan Water Company bought several of the Grand Champions including Colby Rutherford’s goat for $4500, Cullen Sablatura’s broilers for $9500, Colby Rutherford’s lamb for $5000, and Tyland Lackey's turkey for a record $7000. The Grand Champion Rabbits, shown by Alexis Macik, were purchased by JMF Landworks and JxJ Ranch for $3250. And Evers and Sons bought the Grand Champion Ag Mechanic project…a rocking chair set built by Matthew Hancock, for $4750.
A Burleson County Fair record was set in the bidding for Barrett Spacek’s Reserve Champion Swine. Metropolitan Water Company bought it for a record $15,500.
The Burleson County Fair concluded Saturday night with a concert by Cody Joe Hodges and Roger Creager, who filled in for the ailing John Anderson.
