CANDLELIGHT VIGIL SET FOR HOUSE FIRE VICTIMS, INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
A candlelight vigil is set for tonight (Saturday) on the campus of Texas A&M for the father and daughter whose remains were found in a house fire Monday in Bryan.
The Texas A&M Student Athlete Advisory Committee will be handing out candles to those attending in the Zone Plaza between the Memorial Student Center and Kyle Field. The vigil begins at 8pm.
Thirty-year old Noel Devin and her 53-year old father Thomas ‘Mac’ Devin were discovered in the rubble of Noel’s burned home in the 2000 block of Vinewood Drive Monday morning. Both had strong ties to Texas A&M. Noel was with the 12TH Man Foundation and her father was a 1987 graduate of the University.
Meanwhile the investigation into their deaths, continues. The District Attorneys office spent much of Friday at the scene of the crime. Thirty-four year old Dennis Wayne Brown III is accused of burglarizing the home and setting it on fire. He remains in custody under a $1.15 million bond. He had been released from prison just days before the crime after serving a 15-year prison sentence for aggravated robbery.
Funeral services for Mac and Noel are set for two pm Tuesday at the Central Baptist Church.
