OFFICER SANTA PROGRAM BRINGS CHRISTMAS CHEER TO FAMILIES

Santa Claus is getting little help this year thanks to the Brenham Police Department.

Today (Friday), members of the Brenham Police Department, Brenham Fire Department, Washington County Emergency Medical Services, Blinn College Police Department, DPS and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office are delivering gifts to children across the community as part of the Officer Santa Program.

Brenham Police Chief Craig Goodman explains how the program came together:

This is the second year for the Brenham Police Department to organize the program.  Approximately $9000 was collected in donations this year as well as toys being collected at 17 different businesses.

Chief Goodman explains how the families are selected to receive a visit from Blue Santa:

First Responders took a moment to take a picture together before heading out to deliver the gifts Friday.

Brenham Police Chief Craig Goodman goes over the list of locations with the First Responders before they head out Friday.

  1. What a wonderful program to help out those who cannot provide a joyful Christmas for their kiddos. It’s no coincidence that Chief Goodman has been here two years and this is the second year for this program. He has a true servant’s heart.
