WASHINGTON CO. ADOPTING 911 EDUCATION PROGRAM

  

A national 911 education program is gaining local traction.

The 911 for Kids Educational Program is a national program that goes into different communities and teaches kids about the proper use of 911, and what services they provide.

Washington County 911 Director Kristi Stamnes says the program helps children learn to handle unpredictable situations.

 

There is also an accompanying program that teaches kids how to text 911 dispatchers, when talking over the phone is not an option.

 

The national mascot of the 911 program, Cell Phone Sally, has proven to be a huge hit with the kids.
