A former Brenham Cubette All-State softball player is set to play college ball.

Annie Cangelosi has joined the roster of the Texas State softball team for the 2018 Fall Season.

Cangelosi was an All-State second baseman for the Cubettes in 2017, her senior season, but sat out a year as she attended the University of Texas.

Cangelosi has transferred to San Marcos, where she joins a Bobcat softball team that went 43-16 in 2018 and advanced to the Los Angeles Regional of the NCAA Tournament.

In her senior season for the Cubettes, Cangelosi hit .414 with 31 runs scored, 34 runs batted in and six home runs.

She will join two other former Cubettes in the Bobcats’ program.  Haley Long and Olivia Van Hook are on the coaching staff at Texas State.

Annie is the daughter of Chris and Rachel Cangelosi.

  1. That is great news. She was a tremendous talent during her high school years for the Cubettes, and I have no doubt that she will be a great addition to the Bobcat team.
