UPDATE: BOND INCREASED FOR MEXIA TRAFFICKING SUSPECT
Bond has been increased for a Mexia school teacher, charged with human trafficking a teen-aged relative.
A Freestone County justice of the peace increased bond for Amber Michelle Parker from $25,000, to $250,000, Friday.
Parker, who remains in custody, has reportedly not requested an attorney and refuses to speak with investigators.
She was arrested last week, in a multi-agency human trafficking investigation.
Officials say she was attempting to traffic an under aged relative online to multiple men in Morocco, posting semi-nude photos of the female child online.
Authorities say the victim has been taken out of the area and is safe; staying with her father who picked up the child while Parker was in Morocco.
Freestone County Sheriff J. Shipley says the arrest of Parker was a team effort spearheaded by Freestone County Investigator Sgt. Preston Cordova and McLennan County Detective Joseph Scaramucci.
The Sheriff said the investigation started because of a tip and urged the public to report this type of activity to law enforcement.
