ALBERT WRIGHT TO RUN FOR BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL IN MAY
Brenham City Councilmember Albert Wright has filed for May’s election.
Wright announced today (Friday) he filed for a place on the ballot, for the position of Ward 2 Councilmember.
Wright, the Senior Pastor at New Life Church of God in Brenham, was appointed in September of 2018 to fill the seat once held by Weldon Williams, who passed away in June. His current term is set to last until this May’s election.
Wright said these past few months have been a very positive and informative experience for him.
Wright said he wants to provide valuable input with his experience, along with his ability to work with others.
Wright thanked city staff for welcoming him in and quickly helping him learn his new council responsibilities.
Wednesday was the first day for candidates to file for a place on May’s ballot. The deadline to file is February 15th. Early voting gets underway April 22nd, while the election is on May 4th.
