CALDWELL MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON

A Caldwell man has been sentenced to life in prison for firing a gun at a state trooper during a 2017 traffic stop.
34-year old Charles Nelson was found guilty Wednesday of aggravated assault on a public servant.
Thursday, he was sentenced to life in prison for the incident on March 21, 2017, when he fired a gun from the passenger side of a vehicle after it was pulled over along Highway 6 in College Station.
Nelson reportedly fire three shots at Trooper Justin Ferguson, who was not hit, but was injured by flying glass.
Nelson fled the scene, and was captured several hours later, following a massive man hunt.
