BAYLOR SCOTT AND WHITE CONTINUING RECRUITMENT EFFORTS FOR OB/GYN SUPPORT
Baylor Scott and White in Brenham is continuing its search for permanent support in its Labor and Delivery Care Department.
The hospital continued labor and delivery services on January 21st, after they had been suspended in December due to a shortage of certified OB/GYNs in Brenham. The hospital has doctors from within and outside the Baylor Scott and White system providing coverage, while it continues its recruitment efforts for permanent OB/GYN support.
Board Chair Shirley Herring said the recruiting firm hired to bring in new doctors is screening candidates, and that progress is being made. She added that this particular firm is “one of the top recruiting companies in southwest Texas”.
Recently, it was announced that Dr. Aaron Campbell, currently the only certified OB/GYN in Brenham, would be joining Baylor Scott and White – Brenham Clinic as of March 19th. He will not regularly deliver babies, but he is one of Baylor Scott and White’s certified backups. He will provide prenatal, postnatal, and all other gynecological services at the clinic.
Herring said the hospital is “really thrilled” to have Campbell joining the Baylor Scott and White team. She said it’s great to have him staying in the community to continue providing his services.
Herring reiterated that Baylor Scott and White remains “committed” to providing labor and delivery services to expectant mothers and babies in the community.
