COLLEGE STATION MAN CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION NEAR SMITHVILLE

A College Station man was arrested near Smithville Friday night on drug possession charges.
Around 10 p.m., Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Meagher stopped a 2007 Acura for a traffic violation of speeding on South Kirtley Road, southeast of Smithville. The vehicle turned westbound onto Highway 71 and pulled over.
Deputy Meagher made contact with the two occupants of the vehicle and obtained consent to search the vehicle. On doing, approximately 80 grams of THC Oil was found in cartridges in the vehicle.
The driver, 20-year-old Dylan Carlton of College Station, claimed responsibility and was arrested. He was taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
