CUBS FACE MUST-WIN–THEN GET SOME HELP

The Brenham Cubs still have a chance to make the playoffs, going into the final game of the 2019 season.

The Cubs (21-11/6-7) host the Waller Bulldogs (7-6) tonight at Firemen’s Park. The Cubs must beat Waller, then get some help from Rudder. The Rangers (2-11) must beat Magnolia (7-6), which would force a three-way tie for the fourth-and-final playoff berth in 19/5A.

Brenham dropped a heart-breaker to the Bulldogs, Tuesday, 5-3; while Magnolia downed the Rangers, 9-4.

In case of a three-way tie, the teams would then meet for a two-game playoff Saturday at Cy Ranch. Waller would face Magnolia at 1:00. The winner would then face the Cubs immediately following.

The Cubs will also honor six seniors playing their final regular season home game: Keagan Eason, Hayden Schroeder, Evan Schroeder, Hayden Allen, Seth Diggs and Travis Vendrell.

First pitch is set for 7:00 tonight at Firemen’s Park. The pre-game show is set for 6:40 on KWHI AM-1280, FM 101.7 and www.kwhi.com.
