MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE MONDAY AT CHAPPELL HILL MUSEUM

The Chappell Hill Cultural Heritage Group is preparing to host its 11th Annual Memorial Day Remembrance Monday.

The program, being held at the Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum on 9220 Poplar Street, will begin at 11 a.m., honoring all who gave their lives for the United States.

Planned events include musical tributes, guest speakers, the posting and retiring of colors, and student essay readings.

Guest speaker will be Mary Tallouzi, working with the Wounded Warrior Project, while keynote speaker will be Brenham ISD Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson.

Chappell Hill Cultural Heritage Group Chair Madelyn O’Brien said “while this event does not celebrate war or its damaging effects, it serves as an opportunity to express our deepest gratitude”.
