ROUND TOP MUSIC FESTIVAL UNDERWAY AT FESTIVAL HILL

The first week of events has begun in the 49th edition of the near-summer-long Round Top Music Festival.

Artists from across the world arrived at Festival Hill in Round Top Sunday, and will put on performances through July 13th.

In addition to a series of master classes this week, guests to Festival Hill can also look forward to the Opening Chamber Music Concert Saturday.  The concert will be held in the Festival Concert Hall, beginning at 3:30 p.m., and feature work from Antonín Dvořák and Johannes Brahms.

Pianist James Dick will join the Texas Festival Orchestra in their performance Saturday at 7:30 p.m., conducted by Christian Arming.  The orchestra will play works from Sergei Rachmaninoff and Hector Berlioz.  The orchestra will also be performing in the Festival Concert Hall.

All concerts and master classes are held at the Festival Hill Campus at 248 Jaster Road in Round Top.  For tickets or more information, visit http://festivalhill.org.
