LCRA OFFERING COMMUNITY GRANTS TO AREA NONPROFITS, FIRST RESPONDERS
Applications for the next round of community grants through the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) are now available.
The LCRA is accepting grant applications for community development projects in its wholesale electric or water service areas through July 31st.
Grants of up to $50,000 are available. Most of the grants from the Community Development Partnership Program are for $25,000 or less, but every cycle does include two or three grants of up to $50,000.
The grant program recently awarded more than $470,000 to help fund more than 20 projects, including providing emergency equipment to firefighters and other first responders, a backup generator for a medical center, and community center and library renovations.
Eligible organizations include volunteer fire departments, emergency responders, local governments, schools, libraries, civic groups, museums, and other nonprofit organizations.
