LA GRANGE MAN ARRESTED IN THREE-YEAR ARSON INVESTIGATION
A three-year arson investigation in Fayette County has cleared, and an arrest has been made.
(Fayette Co. Jail)
32-year-old Adam Christopher Ahlschlager of La Grange was arrested Friday on a first-degree felony charge of Arson.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, the Sheriff’s Office began investigating several suspicious fire scenes in July 2016, with help from the State Fire Marshal’s Office. Area fire departments responded to the string of fires, where property damage ranged from minor damage to total losses.
Early on in the investigation, several potential suspects were developed, one being Ahlschlager, who was interviewed by investigators at the time as a possible suspect.
On Friday, after gathering all evidence, Detective Garrett Durrenberger obtained an arrest warrant. Durrenberger and Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie later found Ahlschlager at his home in La Grange. He was taken into custody without incident, with assistance from La Grange police officers.
Ahlschlager was booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center at $250,000 bond.
