BRYAN MAN SENTENCED FOR INDECENCY WITH A CHILD

A Bryan man has been sentenced to nearly 40 years in prison after a jury convicted him on a charge of Indecency with a Child.
Joshua Figures was sentenced Friday to 38 years behind bars.
Prosecutors said Figures touched the 10-year-old victim at a friend's home in the middle of the night. After it occurred, the girl texted a relative.
Prosecutors say they discovered numerous letters that Figures wrote to the mother of the victim, urging her and her daughter to lie under oath.
Figures is also accused of sexually abusing a second victim in 2013, in a case that wasn’t reported until 2018.
