GRIMES CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE REMOVES 15 NEGLECTED DOGS FROM PLANTERSVILLE PROPERTY
More than a dozen dogs were removed Friday from a property in Grimes County, after social media alerted authorities to potential animal abuse in the area.
Thursday, Grimes County investigators learned of a video depicting dogs being chained in poor conditions on a wooded lot. The video, which alleged the dogs were being used for fighting, was taken at property on Hollyknoll Drive in Plantersville.
It was originally said on social media that 80 dogs were being kept at the property, but investigators determined there were only 15 dogs on the property, while no one was living there at the time.
After obtaining an animal seizure warrant, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Houston Humane Society Partners of the Harris County Animal Cruelty Task Force. By 2 p.m. on Friday, all 15 dogs on the property were rescued.
Authorities said they found the dogs in poor living conditions, with many appearing malnourished. The dogs will be given veterinary care and checked for microchips.
No evidence has been found at this point that the dogs were being fought at the location they were being kept. However, investigators have not ruled out the possibility of the dogs being fought at another location.
Once veterinary exams are complete, investigators will consider animal cruelty charges against the owner of the dogs, who they say has been located and identified.
So remove the 50 skeletal horses and save them.Send them to a sanctuary or a rescue
The horses are on private property takes the law to do it . Unfortunately the law doesn’t have the will or rime to be bothered.
Now if we can just get our sheriffs office to remove the skeleton horses from fm 50 north of Independence, and the ones in Clay that I drive by every day. Most don’t have access to water all day and are tied to trees most of the time and the are emancipated just starving. Iv called before and they say it’s being handled but the horses are still starving, a friend told me where the dead horses are piled up he’s seen them!
