ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 290 WEST NEAR BURTON SENDS AT LEAST TWO TO HOSPITAL

  

At least two were transported for injuries after a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on Highway 290 West, just outside of Burton.

Units were called out just before 1 p.m. to Spur 125 at Highway 290 West.

According to Highway Patrol Sergeant Alease Wilson, a vehicle was attempting to turn onto the eastbound lanes of Highway 290 from Spur 125.  Wilson said it failed to yield the right-of-way, and pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle headed west.

Sgt. Wilson said the occupants of each of the vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but she could not confirm exactly how many were transported.

Highway 290 West was briefly shut down, as authorities worked the scene of the accident.
