BRENHAM CUB BAND TO PERFORM FULL DRESS REHEARSAL FRIDAY OF “FOUR FREEDOMS”
The Brenham Cub Band will look to further hone its performance of “The Four Freedoms” with a pair of shows this weekend.
The band will perform an exhibition tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 4:15 p.m. at Cub Stadium, then at halftime of the Cubs’ football game versus Elgin.
The band’s show of “The Four Freedoms” reflects the freedoms outlined by President Franklin Roosevelt in his State of the Union address, 11 months before Pearl Harbor. The freedoms will be displayed in modern perspective.
Band Director Eric Rettig said the exhibition will give the band another opportunity for a full dress rehearsal, and also allow the audience to see the show in a “marching band friendly” environment.
The Cub Band performed its show this past weekend at the Katy Marching Festival at the Katy Legacy Stadium. Rettig said Brenham placed 8th out of 12 in District 5A, and 11th out of 22 overall.
At the end of Friday’s exhibition, attendees will have the chance to take photos of the props used in the show.
