BRIEF MEETING TUESDAY FOR WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS
Washington County Commissioners had one of their shortest meetings of the year today (Tuesday).
In one of only three action items on the agenda, commissioners approved the sale of surplus county property through GovDeals, the county’s online auction service.
Commissioner Kirk Hanath said the county’s Information Technology department made a request to keep the 100 foot radio tower, which was recently removed from the courthouse roof during renovation work.
The radio tower will be kept for county government use in the future. Commissioner Don Koester said selling the tower would not bring the county much revenue, and it would not be worth the hassle of getting rid of, so it would be better to just hold onto the tower until it is needed again.
Also in court, commissioners approved a resolution certifying that the county has granted funds this year to the Washington County Healthy Living Association (WCHLA), and that the county approves the WCHLA’s accounting system or fiscal agent. This was to ensure that the association is eligible to receive funds from the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Home-Delivered Meal Grant Program.
Commissioners also approved a final plat for Mound Hill Estates, located at Mayfair Lane and FM 390 East in Precinct Three.
