WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR 2019 SCARECROW EXTRAVAGANZA
The votes are in, and the winners of the annual downtown Brenham Scarecrow Extravaganza have been announced.
This year’s Judges’ Favorite, and the winner of the top prize of $400, was “The Great Pumpkin Master” from Girl Scout Troop 359. The prize was sponsored by KWHI and KTEX-106, Eric Benitez with Washington County Real Estate, and 4 Star Concert Hall.
The Crowd Favorite, which received the most votes, was “The Lorax” from Mrs. Wolf’s Class, winning a $300 prize sponsored by Volares Italian Restaurant and Las Americas Latin Cuisine.
The Best Original Scarecrow was “Mr. Alpha Numeric” by Grace Lutheran, winning a $300 prize sponsored by Hermann Furniture and Timeless Designs Market.
Best Halloween Theme went to “Chavez” from Here or There Massage. “Chavez” won $150, sponsored by Must Be Heaven.
Best Use of Pumpkins were the “Pumpkins FFA in Jackets” by Brenham FFA, the winners of $150 sponsored by Tres Chic Boutique.
The Best Football Theme went to “Soccer Player” from Brenham Vice Soccer, winning $150 sponsored by Branded Boutique.
Best Use of Fall Leaves went to Chantilly Grace for their “Autumn is Falling” scarecrow, which won $150 sponsored by The Canyon Chick.
Best Use of Corn was “The Zom Bees!!” from the Bee Keepers Association of Central Texas. Their scarecrow won $150, sponsored by The Pomegranate.
Main Street Brenham thanks all the sponsors that made the event possible. Participants are asked to return their display number stakes to the Brenham/Washington County Visitor Center at 111 West Main Street.
