WORK AT HENDERSON PARK, K-BOB’S LEADS OCTOBER BUILDING PERMITS

Upgrades at Henderson Park and a local restaurant led October’s building permits for the City of Brenham.

A $492,136 permit was October’s largest, dedicated for various improvements at the park.  Those improvements include upgrades for lighting, accessibility, restrooms, and the baseball field.  The project is contracted out to Aggieland Construction of Wellborn.

Another notable permit in October was issued to Lee Anderson Co. for $200,000 for interior remodeling at the former K-Bob’s Steakhouse.  The restaurant has been renamed to Lone Star Southern Grill.

Owner Brett Smith said the restaurant will have a familiar feel to K-Bob’s, but will have new dishes and a broader menu, along with a full bar.  He said he expects the restaurant to reopen for business on Monday.

The full month of October had a total of 24 permits issued for $1,473,719.  That number is down from last October’s 39 permits for $1,923,415.

Three new residences were permitted in October, for $203,820.  So far this year, the city has permitted 51 new residences for $6,379,214.

Through 2019 so far, the city has issued 240 permits for $36,482,764.  At this point last year, 251 permits were issued for $31,520,248.
