Kirk Hanath has announced he will seek re-election as Washington County Commissioner of Precinct Three.

The current term of Hanath, who first took office in 2004, expires in December of 2020.

A Brenham native and graduate of Brenham High School and Blinn College, Hanath said, if he is re-elected, he believes his previous business background, along with his experience in office, will “continue to be a valuable asset” in the county’s decision-making process.

Hanath said he has been involved in numerous challenges in county government that had to be met with firm, but positive, leadership.

Hanath said, from the beginning, his philosophy has been a “common sense approach” to county government, gathering as much information as possible in any situation before making a decision.  He said this approach eliminates politically motivated intentions and makes sure the decision being made is one in the best interest of county constituents.

If re-elected, Hanath said he intends to continue humbly serving Washington County citizens with “respect, integrity, dedication and hard work”.
