BLINN BOARD TO DISCUSS SECOND RELLIS BUILDING
The Blinn College Board of Trustees will take the next step in a second building on the Blinn College Rellis Campus.
At a meeting earlier this year, the board and administration discussed a proposed second phase of construction at the RELLIS Campus in Bryan.
Blinn and The Texas A&M System set an initial goal for 500 students during Blinn’s inaugural year at the campus in 2018.
However, student demand pathways to bachelor’s degree programs offered by the Texas A&M System exceeded all anticipated demand, as Blinn enrolled 1,515 students for the Fall 2018 semester.
Blinn anticipates that it will quickly surpass the 2,500-student capacity of the Walter C. Schwartz Building.
At Tuesday’s meeting the board is expected to authorize the administration to request qualifications for an architect to design the Phase II building.
The Blinn Board will meet Tuesday evening at 5:30 at the Walter Schwartz Building on the A&M Rellis Campus.
