SCHMECKENFEST SET FOR DECEMBER 5TH IN LA GRANGE
The 12th Annual Schmeckenfest will soon kick off the holiday season in La Grange.
Visitors from all over will come to the Fayette County Courthouse Square next Thursday, December 5th, for the annual Christmas extravaganza.
The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a Christmas parade and lighting of the county Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn. Over 25 different types of wassail, or hot cider, will be available, made by various business owners and community leaders. The winner of the wassail competition will be crowned Schmeckenmeister until the next festival.
The small town Christmas festival will also include music, cookie decorating, treats from local nonprofit organizations, children’s activities like a Schmecken-ball pit and bounce house, and a visit from Santa.
