  1. Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks. Every the toys are handed out to families that have applied for the program. There are rules on how many toys each kid can get. We use to go buy bikes and toys from toys r’us with donations. All the people who work while handing out toys are volunteers or Marines.

  2. The reply above ‘have never seen pictures of the people who get them’, was the same exact wording on a community Facebook page.. the person that is being so ugly as to have a ‘need’ to see underprivileged children posted so that she/he and others with ‘nose trouble’ can see and bully and have their classmates know that Santa can’t afford to come to their homes just absolutely galls me. If you can help someone even a little, please do it. If you can’t or don’t want to, please stay out of it. If she/he knew how joyous one or two modest gifts, and the fixings for a holiday meal makes a family, she/he would be ashamed of themselves. May my nose never let me forget how fortunate MOST of us are..

    1. Seriously? Do you think someone is selling the toys and profiting from it? I’m sure the kids who receive these toys from this charity don’t deserve to have their picture and name in the paper, nor their parents identified as not being able to provide Christmas gifts for their kids. Have a heart. It’s Christmas!
