BRENHAM, WASHINGTON CO. TOURISM PARTNERS RECOGNIZED AT RECEPTION

  

Several local tourism partners were honored Wednesday evening at the Barnhill Center in Brenham at the 2019 Tourism Partner Awards.

A cocktail reception was held at the Barnhill Center for Visit Brenham tourism partners, in recognition of their efforts to promote Brenham and Washington County. Awards were presented in several categories: Collaboration, Best of Social Media, Outside the Box, Family-Friendly, Newcomer, Legacy, Partner of the Year, and Silver Star Performance.

Winners of the Collaboration Award, presented to partners who work together to create an event that brings visitors to the area, were Pleasant Hill Winery, Saddlehorn Winery, and Texas Star Winery.

Best of Social Media, going to the partner that best promotes their business, downtown Brenham, and the area, went to Kathleen and Jared Anderson, owners of Ballad of the Bird Dog.

The Outside the Box Award, given to partners who go above and beyond in creating experiences and events, went to Suzy and Keith Hankins, owners of Ant Street Inn and Main Street House.

The Family-Friendly Award, given to the partner that proves to be a delight for kids and adults alike, went to The Book Nook.

The Newcomer Award, presented to a unique new business or attraction that continues to grow, was given to John Elford, owner of the 4-Star Concert Hall and Sports Bar.

The Legacy Award, going to a partner that has and continues to bring visitors into the county, was given to the Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site.

The Partner of the Year Award, for staying at the forefront of tourism, went to Jon and Jennifer Hermann of Hermann Furniture.

The Silver Star Performance Award, recognizing the work and dedication of those who continue to contribute to Brenham and Washington County’s tourism story, are Unity Theatre Executive Artistic Director Kate Revnell-Smith and all of the theatre’s staff and volunteers.
