Leona Hernandez was accepted for the Harvard Pre-College Program. She was chosen for the highly selective program from an exceptional applicant pool, based on her strong academic record and thoughtful application.
The Harvard Pre-College Program is an immersive and collaborative residential experience for high school students. Attendees are encouraged to build independence and responsibility by planning their own time and managing the demands of college courses. Alongside peers from around the world, Hernandez will experience a summer study program that resembles that of a Harvard College student.
Hernandez said she’s excited to spend two weeks this summer at Harvard, and she expects to “meet extraordinary people and gain invaluable lessons from this program”. She added that she is honored to be able to represent her school and the Brenham community.
Hernandez is a member of the Brenham Anchor Club, Brenham High School Women’s Chorus, and the National Honor Society. She plans to major in Humanities and Social Sciences after she graduates from Brenham High School.
