BRYAN, COLLEGE STATION CLOSE BARS, RESTAURANT DINING ROOMS

Bryan and College Station are the latest cities to implement strong restrictions on public gatherings, due to COVID-19.

As of 9 p.m. Wednesday night, all bars and restaurant dining rooms in the two cities were ordered to close to prevent the possible spread of the virus.  Restaurants can still provide take-out, drive-thru, delivery, and curbside pickup services.

The new restrictions also prohibit all public gatherings of more than ten people, per guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  The restrictions do not apply to places of employment, or locations where activities and shopping are needed for everyday life.

Anyone in violation of the order could face up to 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
