WASHINGTON CO. REPORTS EIGHTH COVID-19 RELATED DEATH, SIX NEW CASES
Washington County EMS officials have reported an eighth COVID-19 patient has died.
Wednesday, the county confirmed the death in a Brenham man in his 90s.
At least six of the county’s eight deaths have been connected to the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, whose positive COVID-19 cases make up a large portion of the current cases in the county.
Officials also confirmed six more cases Wednesday, bringing the county’s confirmed count to 76, and the number of active cases to 54. Five patients are currently hospitalized, while 14 people have recovered from the virus.
According to the Washington County Joint Information Center (JIC), the county has performed an estimated 372 COVID-19 tests as of Wednesday afternoon. This number only accounts for county residents tested within the county, and does not include non-county residents.
