HOW TO PROPERLY WEAR A FACE MASK
Health authorities across the state, nation, and the world currently recommend using face masks when going into public settings, but only when worn correctly will they slow the spread of COVID-19.

Face masks help limit the spread of germs by preventing droplets from being released when someone talks, coughs, or sneezes. They also protect the wearer’s nose and mouth from splashes or sprays of bodily fluid.
When wearing a mask, users should make sure their mouth and nose are comfortably covered with no gaps between their face and the mask. They should fit securely on the user’s face, whether they have ear loops or ties or bands at the back of the head, and should allow for breathing without restriction. Users should also avoid touching their mask while using it.
When taking off a mask, individuals should remove it from behind, and should not touch the front of the mask. Users should not touch their eyes, nose, or mouth when removing their mask, and should wash their hands immediately after taking it off.
Single-use medical masks should not be reused, and should be replaced as soon as they are damp. Cloth face coverings should be routinely washed depending on how frequently they are used.
