CITY OF BURTON EXTENDS, UPDATES DISASTER DECLARATION

  

The City of Burton has once again renewed its local disaster declaration, updating it to align with the executive order issued Monday by Governor Greg Abbott.

Thursday, Burton Mayor David Zajicek signed off on the renewal of the disaster declaration, which takes effect immediately and is set to expire at midnight on May 15th.  The declaration follows all guidelines and provisions established by Abbott’s order Monday.

The declaration was initially proclaimed on March 27th, and was extended two previous times before Thursday’s extension.  At the council’s meeting April 2nd, Zajicek was given authority to renew the declaration when need be through the next 60 days, without the council having to meet.
