“NINO” NAMED PET OF THE WEEK

The Brenham Pet Adoption Center has named “Nino” as its Pet of the Week.

Nino is a two-year-old pit bull who is fully vaccinated, but has not yet been neutered due to COVID-19 restrictions limiting elective surgeries.  Brenham Animal Services staff say he is a strong dog in a compact package, but has a softer side and enjoys any attention he gets.  Staff say he came to the shelter with another dog, so he seems to like canine friends.

Nino does have a wound on his back that was present when he arrived, but staff say it is healing nicely, and that it does not seem to particularly bother him.

Nino sits in the Brenham City Council Chambers with Brenham Animal Services Kennel Tech Brendon Watson. Nino may be considering a run for mayor.

The Brenham Pet Adoption Center is still closed to visitors, but all of the shelter’s available pets for adoption can be seen at www.petfinder.com.  Anyone interested in fostering or adopting a pet can call 979-337-7351, or go to the Brenham Animal Services Facebook page.  Appointments are being taken Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m.
